The Lord Jesus Christ has been guiding his church from revelation to revelation, particularly in the areas of deliverance and inner healing. Recently, he has been revealing the mystery of lingering human spirits or earth-bound spirits, and how they can have a negative impact on people’s lives. This knowledge has been shared with select deliverance and inner healing ministers, as well as members of the church. It has been a game-changer for those who have struggled with deliverance in certain areas. By understanding the presence of earth-bound spirits and their effects, people are now better equipped to receive the necessary deliverance and inner healing for complete freedom.
Dr. Ron M. Horner, a deliverance minister, has captured this knowledge in two books available in the shop section of Looseningcaptivesblog.com. I personally witnessed this phenomenon, revealing that lingering human spirits can be present in both believers and non-believers in Christ.
Despite sincere efforts with the help of Christ, many Christians may still have areas of their lives that do not improve, despite receiving various forms of healing and deliverance. Often, the cause of their illness, confusion, lack of progress, personality changes, and interference in their personal affairs is not just demonic in nature, but can also be attributed to lingering human spirits.
The truth is that some human spirits do not move on to the afterlife immediately after their physical body dies, and the reasons for this vary from case to case. These spirits roam the earth in search of a host to inhabit and find security or to fulfill their destiny that was cut short by death. The Bible teaches that when an unclean spirit leaves a person, it wanders through dry places seeking rest but finds none (Matthew 12:43-45).
While Christians have assumed that these verses refer to demons, the term used in this verse is not demon or daimon(Greek) but an unclean spirit or Pneuma (Greek). It’s referring to the spirit (pneuma) of a person. They are referred to as unclean to differentiate them from Holy Spirit, and to indicate that these spirits were not redeemed or cleanse by the blood of Christ. These unclean pneuma then say to themselves I’ll return to my family home or oikos (Greek), not to the body from where they came since it’s dead. They take up seven spirits or pneuma(s) more wicked or poneroteros (Greek) which means mischievous, in pain, sorrowful. These spirits find the family home or relatives primed and ready through their devoted sorrow to become a host for them. As you can see the problem is with the English translation and the lack of study on the part of God’s people.
This verse also challenges the notion that a human spirit automatically moves on to the afterlife right after death.
The scriptures differentiate between the terms demon, unclean spirit, and evil spirit. In my personal experience, I have witnessed demonic spirits manipulating and controlling a lingering human spirit, effectively holding it captive, in order to hide behind and carry out evil in the body and life of another person. We can witness this in Luke 9:38-42 and Mark 5:1-20, where a demon(s) employs an unclean spirit in the account of the epileptic boy and the man of Gadarenes.
This unclean captive lingering human spirit under assignment “turns” into an evil spirit, while an unclean spirit, not in captivity, is a wandering lingering human spirit going through dry places and searching for a host.
A demon, on the other hand, is a distinct type of spiritual entity. I believe these are the disembodied spirits of the Nephilim spoken of in the Book of Enoch Chapter XV (YouTube Video of Book of Enoch). Demons differ from fallen angels, who once inhabited heaven but were deceived by Satan, rebelled against God, and were subsequently expelled from heaven. Protestant churches often cite scriptures such as 2 Corinthians 5:8, which suggests that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord, and Hebrews 9:27, which states that it is appointed for man to die once, after which comes judgment. Based on these verses, it is generally believed that a person’s spirit goes immediately to their eternal destination (heaven or hell) upon death. However, it’s worth noting that these scriptures do not specify a timeframe. The church has assumed and made a doctrine that a human spirit goes immediately to it’s eternity, but this is not the case.
There are various reasons why some human spirits may wander and not pass on to the afterlife immediately. These reasons may include fear of the unknown, incomplete understanding of Biblical teachings about heaven and the afterlife, a desire to fulfill the purpose of one’s life, a sense of duty or attachment to someone or something, unexpected or violent death, and, in the case of unbelievers, fear of judgment from God. It is worth noting that Lingering Human Spirits can be that of believers in Christ as well. Instead of going straight to heaven upon death, they choose to remain on earth for the same reasons mentioned above.
God is merciful, and the Lord Jesus went down to Paradise (when it was in Hell) and preached the gospel to the souls that were there (1 Peter 3:19 ; 4:6). He also holds the keys to both hell and death, making Him the only one capable of judging the fate of lingering human spirits. However, as believers in Christ, He has made us reconcilers of men to The Father (2 Corinthians 5:18). As such, we have been given the opportunity to open the Eternal Portal (or Silver Portal) and assist these lingering human spirits make their transition to eternity and stand before The Father and ask for Him for mercy. By doing so, we can also help to set many people free from the influence of these spirits and bring them relief. The details of all that has been discussed above, are explained in the books Lingering Human Spirits Vol. 1 and Vol. 2, in the shop section of https://looseningcaptivesblog.com.

Salvation Prayer:
If you are reading this blog and have not yet accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord, and you desire to receive Him now, please recite this prayer aloud:
“Lord Jesus, I recognize that I am a sinner in need of a savior. I ask for your forgiveness of my sins and the cleansing of my transgressions through your precious blood, which you shed to pay the penalty for my sins. I believe that you are the Son of God and that you died and rose again on the third day. I invite you to come into my heart and life as my Savior and Lord. With your guidance, I will live for you until the day you call me to heaven to be with you. Thank you, Lord.”
If you sincerely prayed that prayer in faith, welcome to the family of God. Begin reading your Bible and ask the Lord Jesus Christ to guide you to a good church where you can grow in your relationship with Him.
