As I meditated on how doubt can hinder faith—and, in turn, the answers to our prayers—I thought of two things Jesus said. Faith as small as a mustard seed can move a mountain (Matthew 17:20). But Jesus also said that we must not doubt in our hearts; we must believe that what we say will come to pass (Mark 11:23). Mustard-seed faith can move a mountain, but when doubt is mixed with that faith in the heart, it works against the very thing we are believing for.
Then I thought, Is doubt a demon? Is it demonic? Is it an entity? So I stepped into Heaven’s Help Desk to inquire further about this topic. The Lord met me there, and He said:
“Yes, doubt can become demonic, but it is the flesh, the fallen condition of man, and the training of man because of Satan’s doings. His obstructions and delays cause men to believe that it will never change, that it will always be the same.
So doubt begins in the mind, and then it goes to the heart, and then out of one’s mouth. And what you utter becomes a reality. Your thoughts and your heart vibrate doubt, which cancels out any faith that a person may have. That is why I said, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, “Be removed and be cast into the sea.” And if you do not doubt but believe that what you said will come to pass, you shall have what you will (Matthew 17:20; Mark 11:23).
Pure, unadulterated faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1). Faith is a substance. So is doubt. You have to get rid of doubt, which runs with unbelief. Expect with certainty that you have received it, and it will manifest (Mark 11:24).
That is why I was so pleased with my servant Abraham. He believed Me; he trusted Me to be true. And he saw his miracle: he became a father of many nations (Romans 4:18–21). I expect My people to do the same: to trust and believe Me regardless of what they see. Know that I am working out the circumstances in the background to bless My people.
Strengthen your faith through My Word (Romans 10:17). See how I moved and answered many of My people in the Bible and see how I have already answered many things in your life. Continue to trust Me.
You are entering a season where I have many great things for those who love Me and trust Me. Fear not, little flock, for your days of redemption and freedom draw near (Luke 12:32; Luke 21:28)”.

My Testimony
I want to encourage you with something I experienced. While I was in church, I looked at the floor expecting to see the miracle of gems appearing. As I watched with expectancy, gems began to appear. I was looking before there was anything to see. That experience reminds me to pray with expectation and remain attentive to what God is doing. Your answer may come quickly, or it may take longer than mine did. Either way, do not let the waiting persuade you to stop believing. Keep expecting God to answer without giving doubt a place in your heart.
If doubt has entered your heart, ask the Holy Spirit to show you where it began. What delay or disappointment persuaded you that nothing would change? Bring that thought before the Lord, return to what He has said in His Word, and ask Him to help your unbelief (Mark 9:24). Then make room to listen and keep your heart attentive to His answer.
Advocacy Session in the Court of Mercy
Father, Righteous Judge, I come before Your Court of Mercy through Jesus Christ, my Advocate. I ask that the blood of Jesus speak on my behalf (1 John 2:1; Hebrews 12:24).
I repent for allowing delayed answers to prayer to make my heart sick with hope deferred (Proverbs 13:12). I repent for allowing disappointment to become bitterness, doubt, and unbelief. Forgive me for agreeing with the thought that because an answer has been delayed, nothing will ever change. Lord, I believe; help my unbelief (Mark 9:24).
I ask Your mercy to remove hope deferred from my heart and to pull out every root of bitterness before it grows any deeper (Hebrews 12:15). Remove every crown of deception that has been placed upon me. Expose and uproot every lie the enemy has planted in my heart and mind concerning You, Your faithfulness, and the prayers I have brought before You.
Father, Righteous Judge, I ask this Court to commission deliverance angels to remove all heaviness and demonic oppression from me. Let Your angels remove anything the enemy has planted in my heart and mind, and anything through which he has attacked my body, soul, or spirit. Heal the places where disappointment has left me vulnerable.
By the authority of Jesus Christ, I ask that every open door to the enemy’s lies be closed. Close every door to doubt and unbelief. Help me renew my mind with Your truth, restore my expectation, and strengthen me to trust You while I wait. Let faith, hope, and the peace of Your Holy Spirit take the place of everything that has been removed.
I thank You for hearing me and for Your mercy toward me. In Jesus’ name, amen.
